Forrestfield Airport Link (Great Eastern Highway & Fauntleroy Avenue)
Client: Maca Civil
Duration: May to December 2016
QTM team(s): QTM Electrical, QTM Engineering, QTM Traffic Management
Services: Traffic management design, RTM review, traffic control, street lighting
The first stage of a series of projects along Great Eastern Highway involved a $12.5m upgrade at the intersection with Fauntleroy Avenue. Maca Civil engaged QTM Engineering who developed a total of 92 RTM assessed Traffic Control Diagrams for the project and an overarching Site Traffic Management Plan. The project involved the upgrading of the Fauntleroy Avenue intersection and the widening of Great Eastern Highway to allow shared left turn lanes and bus priority lanes and dedicated right turn and u-turn facilities to be implemented. The project was completed in early 2017 with various closures and detours in place over the course of the project.
QTM Traffic Management implemented and maintained initial traffic management requirements throughout the entirety of the project, working with Maca Civil, Main Roads WA and other key stakeholders to ensure that appropriate controls are in place while construction takes place.
After Great Eastern Highway was been widened, QTM Electrical was responsible for the installation of street lighting along Great Eastern Highway from Tonkin Highway to beyond the Fauntleroy Avenue intersection.
This project evidenced QTM’s competence and capability to offer an integrated service between our robust traffic management planning, comprehensive traffic control implementation, and expert installation of street lighting services for major projects.
